This is an 8-Unit comprehensive curriculum package that addresses the essential concepts of DRONE TECHNOLOGY and includes FLYING ACTIVITIES that are aimed at enhancing student skills and understanding.

A set of classroom drones are required to successfully utilize this curriculum. The suggested ratio is 1 drone per 3-4 students.

This curriculum begins with the important topic of safety, and continues with overviews of drone terminology, configurations, and current uses in the service and commercial industries. Unit 3 focuses on the history and physics of flight as it applies to aircraft and drones. Units 4 & 5 of this curriculum contain progressive indoor activities and challenges intended to enhance flight skills. The curriculum continues with the topics of flying with common sense in various situations, an overview of FAA regulations for aircraft and drones, and the very important discussion of proper charging and care of the LiPo batteries used to power drones. Being a shorter curriculum, it’s perfect for after-school or summer programs.

The toy drones recommended for this curriculum are intended to be flown indoors only. Because of this, the flight activities are not under FAA oversight.

Although nearly any drone will work, this curriculum gives you the option of incorporating our “Ready-to-Fly” Indoor Toy Drones so your students can immediately have FUN while applying their knowledge!

Each drone is easy to fly and ready right out of the box. Just attach the props, prop guards, and landing struts. The transmitter requires 4 AAA batteries (not included). These drones are not programmable. ($89 ea.)

Also, as an option, you may want to consider upgrading to the Tello drone.

These are great camera drones, with models capable of advanced flight maneuvers and programming. The Tello drone is specifically needed for our DRONE PROGRAMMING curriculum if that is in your future. We offer various packages for the Tello.
